• Is there an age limit for children?
Not at all—children of all ages are welcome at Ekorian’s Mugie Camp! We love hosting families and creating unforgettable safari memories for guests both big and small.
  • When is the best time to visit?
Game viewing is at its best during the dry months of January to February, when wildlife gathers around water sources. That said, June and October are two of our favorite months—lush and green after the rains, offering stunning scenery and a magical atmosphere.
  • What’s the weather like?
Expect cold nights and early mornings, especially during the dry season, so pack some warm layers. Days tend to be hot and sunny, and it can get windy, particularly in March.
  • How much wildlife will I see?
Laikipia is home to a healthy and diverse wildlife population. While it may not match the sheer density of the Mara, the experience here is more intimate and immersive. You'll view animals in solitude, far from the crowds—perhaps from the back of a camel or at eye level in a kayak. It’s a chance to truly appreciate the smaller wonders of the bush, not just the Big Five.
  • What is there for children to do?
We know that hours in a safari vehicle can be tough for young explorers. That’s why we offer a variety of activities to keep kids active and entertained—from camel rides and bush picnics to games and fun challenges at camp. We have board games, volleyball, footballs, spikeball, cornhole, archery, and even spear throwing to try!
  • Do we share game drives or activities with other guests?
If you're a group of four or more, you'll enjoy your own exclusive vehicle for game drives. All dining is private, unless you’d prefer to share a meal with other guests. We’re all about flexibility—your stay is tailored to your pace and preferences.
  • Do you provide baby cots and car seats for young children?
Yes, we provide baby cots with cozy bedding for your little one’s comfort. However, we do not provide car seats — please bring your own.
